Koh Tao is more than just a restaurant. It’s a journey. A legacy carried with love and resilience. A promise to never forget where we come from. It all began in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where my mother grew up. As a child, she was surrounded by the aromas of spices and the bubbling pots in her family’s restaurant. That’s where she learned the art of traditional recipes, passed down from generation to generation.”

These are the words of Ly Tran, chef-owner and CEO of Koh Tao. As president of the company and founder of Le Petit Tao, he brings to life a vision deeply rooted in family history, driven by a desire to preserve and share a sincere and rich culinary heritage.

Today, Koh Tao employs around fifty people and continues to grow, focusing on authenticity, quality, and close relationships with its customers. The company takes particular pride in its role in job creation in Quebec, a strong and meaningful commitment. Conscious of its social responsibility, Koh Tao adopts a thoughtful approach by using resources wisely and working to reduce its environmental impact.

In the coming years, Koh Tao plans to open four to five new locations. This growth reflects a clear goal: to share cuisine made with heart, while remaining true to its origins and values.
